DIVE
Our DIVE project focuses on investigating the level of digital inclusiveness in continuing vocational education and training (C-VET) for individuals with sensory impairments. The project’s primary goal is to develop a pilot training program that not only addresses technical aspects but also emphasizes the often overlooked pedagogical and participatory aspects of inclusive learning. This approach is supported by data gathered from a reference group and examples of best practices. We are conducting this specific project in collaboration with ibis acam Bildungs GmbH.
Persons with sensory impairments face limited occupational opportunities and fewer chances to enhance their knowledge on the job, despite the potential benefits of digitization. DIVE aligns with the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD) and aims to enhance accessibility to C-VET for this group by introducing a learner-centered training pilot on basic digital competencies. The project’s approach seeks to bridge existing gaps in C-VET accessibility for individuals with sensory impairments and empower them with essential digital skills to effectively use existing tools and excel in their careers.
The objectives of the DIVE project are as follows:
Understand the impact of digitization on the design and pedagogy of C-VET curricula, particularly for individuals with sensory impairments.
Identify gaps and devise strategies to enhance participation in C-VET, ensuring a comprehensive approach to addressing the needs of individuals with sensory impairments.
Develop a pilot training program focusing on basic digital competencies and personal branding online for individuals with sensory impairments.
Publicly test and discuss project outcomes to raise awareness about the issue and foster a European network of expertise in inclusive C-VET.
